Scaler for mobile apps
Short answer: Scaler gives every TikTok, Reel and Short its own tracked link, joins the taps to your RevenueCat subscriptions, and makes the next posts against the ones that produced paying users. What it does not yet do is install-level attribution. That is a real gap for apps and we'd rather you hear it here.
Why apps are the hardest case
A subscription app's best viewers watch on their phone, think about it, and search the App Store two days later. That delayed journey is exactly what click-based attribution handles worst, and an organic post produces no ad click for an MMP to match. Most app teams end up with a view count per post and a single "organic" bucket of installs. The four methods that do work, and what each one misses.
What Scaler does for an app
- A tracked destination per post, minted at publish time, so post #14 and post #15 don't share a link.
- RevenueCat joined to those clicks, so each post carries clicks and the subscription revenue they led to.
- Hooks tested separately from visuals, so you can tell whether the message or the creative won.
- The next batch made against paying users, not views. Week ten is informed by nine weeks of labelled results for your app.
What you still need alongside it
If you need install counts per post, keep an MMP and instrument deferred deep links as described in our attribution guide. Scaler's numbers are best used as a ranking signal (hook A converts better than hook B), not an audit of every install your content caused. That number is almost always higher than any link reports.
Which plan
One app testing whether short-form moves anything: Signal at $49/mo. Most apps that are serious about it: Engine at $149/mo, which adds competitor tracking and format benchmarks for your category. Pricing.
Frequently asked
Does Scaler attribute app installs?
Not today. Scaler's attribution is click-level: it reports the clicks a post produced and the revenue those clicks led to. Deferred deep-link install attribution is not wired, so for install counts you still want an MMP.
Which revenue source does it use for apps?
RevenueCat for mobile subscriptions. Stripe works for web billing.
Will it post to my app's existing TikTok?
Yes. You connect your own accounts with OAuth and Scaler publishes through TikTok's Content Posting API, Instagram's publishing API and the YouTube Data API.
